Early Childhood Education Instructor Job at St. Johns River State College

A Doctor of Philosophy or a Doctor of Education with a graduate concentration in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Curriculum and Instruction required. A Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Curriculum and Instruction with significant teaching and leadership experience in both K12 and higher education may be considered in lieu of an earned doctorate. Faculty whose terminal degree is Doctorate is in Curriculum and Instruction or any Master’s Degree will be required to hold a valid Florida Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education within one year of hire. Florida Teaching Certification for all candidates preferred. Courses to be taught may include lower-division introduction to education and early childhood education courses; baccalaureate level education, ESOL, reading education, and/or early childhood education courses; Educator Preparation Institute courses; and practicum and capstone courses. This position will be a full time, nine-month faculty position. Teaching responsibilities will begin August 10, 2023, and will be at the Palatka, Orange Park, and St. Augustine Campuses in addition to hybrid and distance learning courses. Primary office will be on the Orange Park Campus. Applicant must pass verification of employment/reference screening and a background check. This position is not eligible for Veterans’ preference. This position is a part of the United Faculty of Florida union at SJR State and thus is included in the collective bargaining unit.
