Position Details
Tilson is looking for an experienced Consultant to join the M&A Due Diligence team within Tilson’s Telecom Consulting practice. The Consultant will work as a member of a team that advises lending and investment clients on the validity and viability of their target investment, including areas such as network design and architecture, asset age and usefulness, historical and projected capital, operating costs, opportunity risks and rewards, and overall operating performance. Desirable skills include the ability to perform financial analyses, analyze transaction models and financial scenarios, aide development of high-level designs and cost estimate factors, and research and draft sections of client deliverables. We are looking for a consultant with telecom industry subject matter familiarity and strong analytical, writing and communication skills. The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000/yr.

Responsibilities:

Perform data and document reviews and evaluations
-
Perform engineering and financial analytics and validations
-
Perform financial analysis and modeling of transactions and financial scenarios.

Act as an expert third-party reviewer to evaluate and critique network designs, project plans, and project execution of wireline and wireless projects on behalf of clients who are network funders or owners.

Review high-level network designs and growth plans, including identifying ways to improve cost and speed deployment.

Review field collected data for accuracy and completeness, and in some cases, perform high-level field assessments.

Research and draft sections of client deliverables such as network recommendations, alternative project delivery strategies, requests for proposals.

Evaluate contracts and pricing proposals on behalf of clients.

Contribute to proposal writing and fielding requests from public agencies, private infrastructure developers, and other potential clients

Manage or self-perform multiple projects of varying complexity.

Track progress of project tasks and ensure deadlines are met.

Find innovative solutions to common project roadblocks.

Communicate clearly and regularly to team members, including Project Manager.

Maintain orderly records and project documents.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
-
Strong understanding of outside and inside plant engineering, fiber optic networks, fixed wireless networks and telecommunication construction.

Understanding of the operating requirements of Internet Service Providers delivering broadband and telecommunications services to homes, businesses, and institutions over fiber optic networks.

Experience engineering in a GIS based program is a plus.

Understanding of job cost, change order management and work order processing.

Travel potential up to 30%.

Strong project management skills with the ability to meet project deadlines.

Willingness to learn new skills, software, and technologies.

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Proficiency in MS Office/Excel.

Valid driver’s license.

Practice good judgement and take ownership in workplace safety.
This is a full-time salaried position with some day and overnight travel. Evening and weekend hours may be required from time to time to meet client needs.
