JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Designer is responsible for supporting the design and execution of projects within our clients Architecture and Interior Design department. Under the direction of the manager and in collaboration with department associates, the Project Designer will support a range of project types, with a primary focus on retail environments. Primary responsibility will be drafting and automated design using AutoCad and Revit. 90% of this role will be focused specifically on the drafting, design, and automated drawings. Projects will encompass research, conceptual design, planning, utilization analysis, renovation, and new construction. The Project Designer will be a key contributor and team member involved with design, development, and coordination of assigned projects, while creating deliverables, meeting deadlines, and supporting overall project execution.

Responsibilities include: space planning, interior finish selections and specifications, cost estimates, procurement assistance, rendering development, design and construction drawings, project tracking and closeout, and preparation of presentation materials.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3 years of related work experience in drafting or design
• BA or BS degree in Interior Design, Environmental Design, Interior Architecture, or a degree from an NAAB-accredited School of Architecture.
• Candidates shall provide a portfolio that exhibits a high level of professional competency and design skill.
• Expertise and proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and AutoCAD or Revit
• Knowledge of interior finishes, building systems, construction details and industry nomenclature, as well as a general understanding of building code requirements.

DESIRED SKILLS

• Pursuit of professional registration and/or licensure is preferred.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software including Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, including the ability to create and manipulate models, renderings, and lighting studies.
• Creative sketching and hand rendering skills.
