Starting pay: $20.27-$22.50/hr. (DOE) with $5,000 Sign-On Bonus*

The incumbent performs registration procedures from all donors with an uncompromising commitment to quality standards; the safety of the blood supply and the donor experience.
Principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Employees regularly scheduled for 24+ hours per week are covered by medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, with family coverage also available. Also able to participate in retirement plans (401a & 403b), consolidated paid leave program (4.8 – 6.8 weeks of time off accrued per year, based on length of service), subsidized back-up child care program, subsidized transit program, educational reimbursement. Principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greet and thank blood donors and provide general customer service, including such activities as:
- Assess donor needs and assist or direct them as to appropriate
- At all times, interact with donors in ways that create a positive customer engagement experience
- Guide donors through the registration process
- Follow universal precautions and bio-hazard safety standards for working around biohazardous materials.
- Maintain clean working environment by assisting with sanitizing of high touch point areas
- Properly document and perform quality controls on equipment. Consistently uphold Bloodworks and FDA standards to maintain the safety of the blood supply.
- Proactively work with team members to provide optimal donor flow and efficiency while encouraging teamwork
- Provide guidance and support to volunteers at the collection site
- Interact with team members and donors knowledgeably and professionally
- Participate in process improvement teams as needed
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year of work experience in a role where the primary focus is on customer service.
- Work history in health care desirable.
- Ability to attend to details for donor registration and organization. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Excellent internal/external customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Decision-making and critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems, use good judgment, and take quick action when necessary
- Ability to work independently to achieve goals.
- Manual dexterity, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination for performing basic data entry, and documentation.
- Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods, bend and reach, and perform repetitive motions of hands/wrists.
- This job requires work at a variety of locations, and at varying days and hours with overtime as necessary to support the community transfusion needs. This includes evening and weekend hours, and may include overnight travel.
- Ability to adjust to a variety of working conditions based on the individual blood collection sites.
- To obtain access to some client facilities, the incumbent may be required to apply for and obtain clearance to access the client property. This clearance process may require the incumbent to undergo additional levels of screening beyond Bloodworks’ required pre-employment screening.
- Work includes indirect exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
- As this is an essential position with direct responsibility to donors and/or patients, the incumbent should be prepared to work extended and/or consecutive shifts and/or possibly at a different location during periods of inclement weather or other emergencies.
- This is a highly regulated position and is subject to meeting various regulatory agencies and accrediting body rules and regulations. These may include but are not limited to, FDA, AABB, CLIA, CAP.
- Full vaccination against COVID-19 (defined as two weeks after receiving final vaccine dose), or approved medical or religious exemption to the vaccine, is a condition of this role.
