Sauder Woodworking Co is looking for a Display and Showroom Coordinator to join our marketing department. The main responsibilities for this role are to design and manage off-site market and retail showroom displays, operations, facilities, and events, from layout development to show completion. Works with cross-functional teams to meet marketing, merchandising and sales goals related to these displays and events. Works with photography to execute set decor design.

An interest in décor, design, and planning is a must. A degree in a marketing or design field is preferred as well as experience with a layout design software. This role works with a wide variety of teams from our photography studio, designers, merchants, new product development team, as well as our retail store. This role does require in-office work as well as some travel (10-20%).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

– Travel 10 – 20%

  • Provides on-site assistance in photography studio to execute set and décor designs to maximize photography through-put and efficiencies.
  • Develops and prepares (CAD) showroom layouts for off-site permanent showrooms (High Point, Las Vegas, Pet).
  • Develops and prepares (CAD) temporary booth layouts for off-site specialty markets (Pet).
  • Interact with NPD, merchants, sales, and others to assure accuracy of floor plans and availability of display samples and display-related materials.
  • Develops and prepares (CAD) store sales floor and backroom layouts (floor plans) recommendations for new and existing Sauder Galleries in collaboration with sales.
  • Supervises set-up of showroom/booth prior to each event, including arranging for labor as provided by Sauder, or outside service group.
  • Coordinates activities with independent contractors (showroom designers, etc.).
  • Directs arrangements for, including but not limited to, catering, cable-hookups, telephone service, cleaning services.
  • Manages High Point and Las Vegas Showroom operations during each Market and participates in Furniture Gallery meetings as requested.
  • Works with sales and store owners/managers on effective product displays, POP usage, and management of accessories and their placement, including vendor coordination.
  • Assists with existing Gallery store re-sets upon sales request.
  • Works with Sales to identify and deliver marketing and sales tools needed by Gallery stores.
  • Assist Sauder Furniture Store and Outlet with retail displays, resets and showroom décor and maintenance.
  • Executes SFS&O accessory sourcing as needed in collaboration with Marketing creative.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, OR

Associate’s degree PLUS Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience, OR

Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience, OR

Combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certificate or other evidence of proficiency in CAD.

OR evidence of another layout design software

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

When at stores or showrooms, the work (approximately 20% of total time) will be physical and demanding, as product may need to be assembled and/or repaired. Person may need to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and be able to leverage (either with use of furniture moving pads or with 2-person assist) move items more than 100 lbs. This will be done occasionally.
