Position Summary
The Director of VM Strategy & Operations will work to improve MAC NA’s retail experience by simplifying and modernizing our visual merchandising solutions via collaboration with Marketing, Creative, Global partners and RDDC.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute Survey and maintain record of format by door registry complete with layout details and dims across the Free Standing Stores and Retail Partner distribution landscapre
- Work with Brand Marketing partners to understand new launch requirements to determine the impact to our visual merchandising.
- Work with Trade Marketing partners to manage and execute retailer updates
- Lead team of VM ops, designers and execution to seamlessly design and execute all VM projects for NA
- Work with Global Store Design and VM and RDDC to translate global Red 2.0 designs into affordable/achievable solutions for NA
- Act as NA lead for all MAC NA Flagship store renovations including Soho
- Oversee creation and distribution of detailed field assembly/execution guidelines for each update
- Direct, manage and oversee light-box and store window animation programs
- Execute merchandising programs with Marketing, Creative Operations and Customer Service departments.
- Collaborate with National Accounts team on management of capital budget
- Work with Marketing groups and Design on tester unit layouts and templates for open sell systems.
- Interface with all departments including Store Design, Marketing and Sales Development as well as outside vendors with respect to new doors to ensure best possible outcome and opening #1.
- Oversee installation plan, update and maintenance schedule with retailers, vendors and Field for new and existing stores
Qualifications
- 8+ years of related experience with strong design background including concept development and production.
- Strong 3-dimensional design skills and ability to integrate graphic design.
- BA or BSC Architecture, Industrial Design or BFA required.
- Computer skills: on Mac platform: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.
- And 3D rendering program.
- All Microsoft Office Programs.
- Must be exceptionally creative and innovative and be able to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain cooperation from all levels of staff and vendors resulting in smooth completion of project initiatives.
- Ability to receive input from others and be able to persuasively discuss/defend design solutions while remaining flexible and open to other points of view with both internal and external groups.
- Ability to successfully communicate design direction and strategy to cross functional and field partners.
- Proficiency in CS2: InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $113,500 to $195,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
