Department: Pelham Lifelong Learning Center (PLLC) Reports to: Portfolio Director and Chair, Advisory Board
Summary:
The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programming and strategic planning of the Pelham Lifelong Learning Center. Also responsible for fundraising, marketing, and community outreach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Create and implement short- and long-range strategies for PLLC which achieves its mission; make consistent and timely progress.
- Provide leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans with the Advisory Board of Directors and Pelham Apts. Property Management staff, and carry out plans and policies authorized by the advisory board.
- Promote active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of PLLC’s work.
- Maintain official records and documents; ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field through participation in local, state, and regional workshops and conferences.
· Identify emerging needs/interests of the residents of Pelham Apartments through periodic needs assessment surveys and focus groups and align culturally appropriate programming and community partnerships to address those identified needs/interests.
- Regularly update the Advisory Board and the Pelham Board of Directors on PLLC’s operations and the key influential factors.
· Periodically evaluate community programs and partnerships to ensure high quality, culturally appropriate programs are achieving stated goals and outcomes.
- Publicize the programs and goals of PLLC.
- Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations.
- Represent the programs and point of view of PLLC to agencies, organizations, and the general public.
- Work with The John M. Corcoran & Co., the Pelham Apts. Property Manager for the recruitment, employment, and release of all personnel, both paid staff and volunteers.
- Encourage staff and volunteer development and education; assist program staff in relating their specialized work to the total program of the organization.
- Work with the Property Manager and the Advisory Board in preparing a budget for approval by the
Pelham Board of Directors; ensure the organization operates within budget guidelines.
- Complete grant applications; manage grants related to reporting, invoicing; ensure program viability.
- Manage accounts payable for PLLC; manage vendor relationships; partner with maintenance on regularly scheduled inspections and certifications.
- Ensure that adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its work, including seeking out and securing funding for programming.
- In conjunction with the Property Manager, President and secretary of the advisory board, conduct official correspondence of PLC and execute legal documents.
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
- Complete required trainings as assigned.
- Attend required meetings.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business management, social work, education or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience. Minimum of 7 years’ experience working with nonprofit organizations serving the following populations: youth, families, seniors, immigrants, unemployed, people with substance use, mental health related issues, physical and learning disabilities, with at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role. Experience working in community partnerships and organizations on projects that require multi-agency coordination. Ability to represent Pelham Learning Center at various community events and task forces.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
Supervisory Duties:
Directly supervises the Resident Services Manager, Administrative Assistant and Older Adults Program
Coordinator; indirectly supervises all PLLC employees.

Office and residential setting.
