Director, Product Management Supply Chain Logistics, Operations, Transportation and Manufacturing Role

The Williams-Sonoma Supply Chain Product Management organization is seeking an energetic and talented product director to drive high-value, high-impact features for our industry-leading supply chain organization, and manage our Logistics, Operation, Transportation and Manufacturing, product team. At Williams-Sonoma, we support six of the retail industry-leading brands: Williams-Sonoma, west elm, Mark and Graham, and the Pottery Barn family. This role will work across the entire functional domain of all the brands.

The ideal candidate would have the ability to attract, recruit and retain the industry's best talent and have the product experience to effectively influence/participate in business engagement, strategic planning, roadmap development, and decisions to ensure we deliver high value and high impact scalable solutions in an incremental fashion, unlocking hyper-growth, data-driven decision making and creating a world of possibilities for our customers/business.

Success in the role requires agility and results in orientation, strategic and innovative thinking, a proven track record of delivering successful internal and external customer solutions at scale, rigorous analytical skills, and a passion for ROI-driven approaches to solving problems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product strategy and roadmap development for the supply chain operations, logistics, transportation, and manufacturing domains.

  • Collaborate with Business partners, engineering teams, and program management to drive business value.

  • Attract, select, and retain critical talent for the team, coach team members in product management soft and hard skills, and overall career development

  • Provide clear, specific goals to the team and communicate real-time performance feedback regularly through regular 1-1 meetings and performance discussions

  • Drive meaningful business engagement catered to the unique nuances of each business team and leader and that builds credibility and trust

  • Facilitate and encourage continuous development for your team on both key functional knowledge as well as the Williams-Sonoma supply chain domain

  • Assist in continually improving the product management organization and making it a great place to work

  • Develop a solid understanding of critical systems and processes

  • Play an important role in transforming WIlliams-Sonoma Inc. into a technology hub that envisions and delivers the future of omnichannel retail with innovative AI/ML/DS solutions by hiring top talent and building a strong lasting presence in the technology community.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Criteria

  • 12+ years of overall experience in product management, supply chain, logistics, operations, transportation, and manufacturing solutions.

  • 5+ years of experience building and managing a strong team (10-20) team of product managers, business analysts, and managers. Track record of continuously optimizing workforce.

  • Ability to coach your team using a hands-on, show don’t tell approach while avoiding micro-management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in making articulate and effective oral presentations to different audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including such areas as team spirit, negotiation, collaboration, pitching in where needed, valuing and respecting individuals irrespective of seniority levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with and manage external vendors.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

  • Experienced in sharing industry best practices and innovation within your domain and across the supply chain

  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence others within a matrix environment.

  • Ability to matrix manage projects through the entire lifecycle (concept to completion).

  • Ability to systematically gather relevant information from diverse sources to address an issue and make a prompt and insightful decision.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

  • Ability to develop and foster constructive business relationships and gain their trust.

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve conflicts across technology and business partners.

  • Proven experience in developing and executing projects, project ROI, meeting deadlines, and operating under tight time constraints.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and calculated risk-taking

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or related fields, or the equivalent work experience.
