THE ROLE
Purpose of this position is to lead and execute the Salon Education strategy and plans across one or more BUs (based on business size, Go-to market business model and customer numbers) and reach targets.
Leads entire Salon Education channel across all touchpoints – (Studio & Field, Training Centers, Events, Top Artists & Education communities, Online/Offline Education Curriculum and Administration). Represent Education internally and externally as credible face in the industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BUSINESS
- Credible face of the company: Represent Education internally and externally as a credible face to the industry to ensure Education is seen as the preferred partner by Salon partners and set up as Key Business driver for Gain & Grow and for Digital Transformation via Omni-Channel. Bring stylists/industry voice into multifunctional teams (Commercial, Digital, Sales, Finance, HR etc.).
- Education function: Leadership for Salon Education channel; lead, execute and track Education Strategy Coverage, Commercialization, Craft, Community, Capability) based on Global Education Strategy, adapted to local needs and Go-to-market; measure against defined Education KPIs. - Plan and execute local Salon Education Curriculum across all Education Touchpoints, based on global Curriculum (online/offline), serving the Omni-Channel strategy following commercial priorities.
- Sales & Education partnership: Jointly drive, execute and track with Sales Leader against defined Gain & Grow BU/cluster targets taking into consideration: resources, sales targets, company strategy as well as customer and industry needs (using existing tools e.g. e-Booking/Totara). Cascade plans across Salon Education organization down to Educator level working in partnership with Sales Rep (using existing tools e.g. Visit).
- Digital Amplification: Use SoMe to drive awareness for Wella Education and PB brands and promote Education curriculum to drive booking - Increase Education coverage through e-Education.
ORGANIZATION
- High Performing Organization (HPO). Responsible for enabling Education team to achieve their full potential, by investing sufficient priority, time and resource into team culture, individual capability and coaching - Conduct feedback conversations on professional and personal development of Direct Reports and the Education Managers/Signature Artists in cooperation with their 1st Line managers - Identify and further develop talents within the Education team - Conduct co-rides & On-the-Job Coaching.
- Partner with +300 independent contractor team delivering education services across the Salon channel.
- Value-Adding Expertise. Role modeling Education expertise when interacting externally with industry and customers (at events, studio activities, KA meetings etc.) and internally with multi-functional colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Team & Personnel Management. Design and own execution of key operational elements of managing the channel Education organization; including people planning, budgets, meeting drumbeat etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- 8+ years experience in similar role or capacity
- Valid cosmetology license
- In-depth knowledge of Beauty and HD industry and local marketplace
- Commercially and sales savvy to coach salons owners/managers on business strategy & development
- Strong industry competitor awareness
- Experience in People Management/Leadership including Management of remote teams
- Structured, solution-oriented thinking with very strong analytical and strategic abilities
- Leading by example, self-initiative and proactive
- In-depth knowledge of Online/Offline Education Professional and fashionable image
- High level English skills (in writing and verbally)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PPT, Excel) and Apple (iPad/apps)
- Min. 50% travel time (incl. overnight travel) - Valid driver’s license and ability to travel long distances
Desirable:
- Valid Hairdresser/Cosmetology license (is an advantage)
