KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Office of Chief Economist to join our Growth & Strategy organization.
Responsibilities:
- Be accountable for originating unique, value-added economic research on wide-ranging macro and micro topics to support Chief Economist, internal and external clients
- Analyze economic time series data and perform advanced statistical and econometric analyses of data, including working with complex data sets and managing the treatment of gaps and other challenges
- Act strategically and maintain a global view of issues facing KPMG clients and link together activities in the global economy via capital flows, trade flows, global labor demand, and geopolitics
- Conduct and lead economic analysis using standard econometric and data analysis tools
- Produce original thought leadership and create executive summaries of findings in a manner that is relevant and accessible to CEOs, CFOs, Boards, KPMG partners and employees, and other key stakeholders
- Create well visualized presentations and exercise the range needed to engage in Q&A on the U.S. and global economy and key sectors to sophisticated audiences with varying degrees of economic knowledge
Qualifications:
- Minimum ten years of recent economic research experience with a track record of producing original thought leadership, communicating with high degree of executive presence and leading economic research teams
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Economics from an accredited college/university; certified Business Economist designation preferred
- Extensive knowledge of Bloomberg, Bloomberg API, E-Views, and Haver Analytics required; experience with Llama soft, Macroeconomic Advisers, Stata, MATLAB, R MySQL, NoSQL, and Data Wrangler preferred
- Ability to develop and present the U.S. and global outlook; successfully respond to questions from a sophisticated audience and ability to learn sector specific information which adds value and insights for KPMG partners and clients; able to build relationships, collaborate with other economists and team members, meet deadlines, motivate, and influence individuals within a matrix organization and succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written, analytical, and communication skills; proactive attitude with the ability to solve complex problems with economic analysis and exemplifies a track record of commitment to continuous learning; strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Ability to travel up to 50%
