For more than 70 years Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State providing acute care and a full range of medical services. The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care Stroke Care Orthopedics Neurological Surgery Comprehensive Cancer Care Maternity Care and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. In addition the hospital’s network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a member of the Dignity Health system and is a sister facility to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta. Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Director of Oncology Services is responsible for the overall direction and oversight of Oncology services for the local market area. Responsible for the oversight and development of outpatient cancer center and outpatient services delivered in the local market area. The Director works collaboratively with oncology program managers at all facilities in the North State to ensure that services are coordinated effectively with the outlying communities. Also works collaboratively with aligned medical groups to ensure oncology services are coordinated across the continuum of care. Ensures that all action taken and methods to produce the results outlined below incorporate and promote Dignity Health and the local market area strategic and operational goals and mission. This position will have outpatient clinics and outpatient chemotherapy departments reporting to it. This position will report to the Vice President Operations (COO)

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- Accountable for the development, implementation and operation of the Outpatient Oncology clinics.
- Assesses and identifies patients' service needs and helps develop capital and strategic plans to respond to those needs.
- Identifies strategic capital and human resources requirements to support ongoing growth of the oncology services and leading efforts to acquire such resources.
- Develops, utilizes, maintain and manage an appropriate number of qualified staff to provide competent, compassionate, efficient and professional staff.
- Provides staff support to the oncology service line leadership team, comprised of medical directors and key clinical and administrative leadership personnel.
- Develops and maintains relationships with medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation therapists, radiologists and other physician/healthcare providers involved in the delivery of cancer care.
- Develops performance metrics to monitor clinical outcomes, satisfaction and financial performance of oncology services
- Develops services that achieve a high level of customer satisfaction with emphasis on meeting patients' service needs.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- California RN license
- 10 years current progressive management experience in a healthcare setting. Clinical experience, particularly in a cancer care setting, required.

- Effective communication and problem solving techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of standards from regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations.
- Financial management and healthcare economics
- Strategic planning and performance improvement
- Project management
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years of cancer care experience, demonstrating progressive management responsibility
- Master's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related field
- Chemo therapy certification
