Director of Student Services Job at Merrimack School District
The Merrimack School District is seeking a Director of Student Services to lead a dynamic and multi-faceted district-wide program of student support services. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate, lead, and share in the decision-making process as leader of a team of experienced professionals. This candidate will be an innovative district leader for our pre-k-12 inclusive district. As a member of the Merrimack School District Leadership Team this candidate is responsible for ensuring compliance with special education policies, procedures, and/or regulations.
This includes oversight of compliance with special education indicators through partnerships with NHED Bureau of Special Education. The Director will have knowledge of systems leadership, budget development and oversight, and the effective management of special education programming and student service resources. The Director will also develop and oversee the management of federal IDEA grants for preK-12. The Director will work closely with all staff to develop an understanding and meet the instructional needs of Merrimack School Districts students.
The Director will promote partnerships within and outside the school community necessary for the success of all students. Excellent communication and relationship skills are essential. The director oversees the following positions: Administrative Assistants (2)Preschool Coordinator Out-Of-District Coordinator Building Based Coordinators (Shared Supervisory Responsibility with Building Administrators)Contracted Service Providers Qualifications: A Masters Degree and NH Special Education Administration Certification (or eligible for certification) is required. Preference will be given to applicants with significant teaching experience including direct experience in special education, and prior administrative experience.
