Brandywine Living, a premier provider of quality senior living, is currently seeking a Director of Recreation and Lifestyle to join our team in beautiful Rehoboth Beach, DE.

Job Description:

The Director of Recreation and Lifestyle will direct and organize the resident programming function of the community including planning and coordinating life-enriching programs for residents and the community, developing community contacts/working relationships with colleges, universities, social organizations, churches, etc. with the objective of establishing volunteer opportunities and joint leisure, recreation, social, cultural and spiritual programs. Additional responsibilities include developing a monthly schedule of events and the coordination of a successful volunteer program to create a vibrant, active, fun and social environment for our residents.

• Develops, maintains and coordinates a monthly program of events and programs
• Establishes and maintains on-going contacts with community organizations, churches, colleges, universities, cultural organizations and other useful resources for program development.
• Recruits, plans and manages volunteer opportunities for the community
• Manages, trains and develops staff and volunteers
• Coordinates events with local organizations for joint program efforts
• Works with marketing to assist in planning of community/resident events
• Plans and coordinates various resident clubs and committees in the community
• Supports relationships with health and wellness affiliations on resident wellness/fitness programs
• Coordinates community outings to special events, lectures, for an active resident lifestyle

Qualifications:

• College degree is preferred
• Previous experience in event planning and recreation, culture and arts, education, community outreach, program development preferred
• Must possess leadership skills, strong verbal and written, presentation, communications skills and ability to effectively deal with people at different organizational levels both inside and outside the company
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Computer skills required
