Position
As the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the facility, as well as the supervision of the team members involved in production efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards the facility uses to measure efficiency and performance; identify opportunities for improvement
- Communicate with all departments, logistics, engineering, and production management (including management on other shifts), to review and analyze needs, priorities, and issues
- Improve flow and pull of products and information to internal and ultimately external customers
- Lead coordination with production, operations, engineering, technology, and customer service teams to maintain company and department performance, with the goals of improvement and reducing waste and non-value-added activity
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members by investigating root causes for scrap and RMA issues. Work with teams to prevent a recurrence
- Develop employees’ continuous improvement abilities and implement 5S tools and reduce variation in the work environment
- Plan, direct, control, implement, evaluate, monitor, and forecast budgets to achieve financial objectives
- Communicate and explain new directives, policies, or procedures to managers, and meet with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale
Preferred Qualifications:
- Communicate in a clear, approachable, professional, and pro-active manner, provide strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining perspective
- Creativity, flexibility, and ability to drive/guide change
- Ability to multi-task, follow-through, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to develop and coach individuals to higher performance
- Provide operational methodologies and ideas that move visions to successful implementations
- Leadership qualities – patient, kind, respectful, selfless, forgiving, honest, and committed to the growth of individuals and the organization
- Strong technical knowledge related to the field of manufacturing.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
Experience
4+ years’ supervision experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Preferred Computer Skills
Microsoft Office Suite, ability to learn Epicor ERP software.
