General Summary:
MarinHealth Medical Network, a UCSF partner, is experiencing an exciting time of growth and expansion! We are looking for someone to join our team in a leadership role to drive the implementation of strategic goals throughout our clinic operations. This role requires deep operational knowledge, skilled problem solving, a project management mindset, and leadership development capabilities, all with a patient centered focus.
The Operations Director provides operational support, leadership, and direction to MarinHealth Medical Network (MHMN), and its clinic locations, acting as a liaison between the practice managers, providers, and senior executives. In order to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, efficient patient care, this role is responsible for proactively developing and implementing process improvement initiatives, strategic planning, operational training, and leadership development. This position participates as the operational subject matter expert in business development activities and strategic planning processes positively impacting growth, culture, and employee/physician relations. In addition, this role works closely with other leaders across affiliates to develop and implement operational strategies
The Operations Director requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to foster a culture of collaboration and accountability. This role must be able to lead positively through change, while maintaining best practices and problem solving by being solution based.
Areas of responsibility include: clinical best practices, protocol creation and implementation, clinical budgets, clinical staffing, training, projects, affiliate liaison, leadership development, workflows, and special projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Manages and mentors 10+ direct reports (practice managers), providing guidance and performance management when needed.
- Identifies, develops and implements clinical initiatives based on each individual clinic’s needs while balancing the overall goals of the organization.
- Partners with Physician leads to achieve goals and patient care excellence.
- Monitors, analyzes, and proposes solutions to clinical protocols for efficiency and accuracy company-wide.
- Develops and drives initiatives in order to maximize clinical offerings and best in class clinical staff; including professional development decisions.
- Identifies, develops and implements specific training and leadership development efforts for the Practice Managers and clinical teams.
- Possesses financial acumen and drives improved performance.
- Partners with the Executives team to prepare and present monthly financials, staffing analysis and other reports.
- Possess strong leadership, critical-thinking and motivational skills.
- Cultivates an employee centric culture, focusing on development, recognition and engagement.
- Holds team accountable encouraging ownership and solutions.
- Leads projects as needed.
- Possesses excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail.
- Provides solutions to complex business issues.
- Is available for emergent and unforeseen operational leadership needs, such as PSPS.
- Ability to drive to/from various clinic locations (requires a California Driver’s License and automobile insurance in good-standing).

Qualifications:
Experience:
- 5-10 years’ experience in a multi-clinic healthcare environment.
- 3-5 years’ experience managing supervisor level and above.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ambulatory healthcare delivery and management.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management, operations change management, and strategic planning.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations (federal, state, and clinical)
- Knowledge/experience with EHR and/or practice management systems (Apex/Epic a plus)
- Project management experience preferred.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business or a healthcare-related field is required.
- Clinical Master’s degree preferred.
