As a home health nurse at MedStar Health Home Care, you have the autonomy to make individualized patient-centered decisions to promote optimal clinical care.
Responsible for the effective direction of administrative, financial, and clinical outcomes and management of clinical therapy and nursing staff for assigned region. The homecare team includes nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, medical social workers, and home health aides who are dedicated to meeting patient needs 24/7/365.

Education
- Bachelor's degree required and
- Master's degree preferred
Experience
- 1-2 years Progressively responsible managerial experience in home healthcare managing multidisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals required and
- 3-4 years Field experience with Medstar health homecare. required
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in at least 1 of the following jurisdictions: Maryland/VA/District of Columbia. Upon Hire required or
- Valid Therapy/Allied Heath license in at least 1 of the following jurisdictions: Maryland/VA/District of Columbia. Upon Hire required or
- RN License or Therapy/Allied Health license must be obtained within one year of employment in the outstanding jurisdictions. within 1 Year required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive working knowledge of reimbursement and regulatory guidelines.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to apply sound principles of management and supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Assures the implementation and compliance by staff of all policies and procedures.
- Contributes to the achievement of established goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Completes annual Code of Conduct, Compliance and other mandatory training. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
- Enhances growth and development and enriches personal knowledge and skill through participation in educational programs and affiliations.
- Maintains effective working relationships with other departments and participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and agency in community outreach efforts. - Manages financial and clinical outcomes for all patients on their clinical team through the use of appropriate reports and ongoing monitoring of agreed to metrics.
- Participates actively in MHHC Councils/Committees for performance improvement and to develop policies and procedures based on program development and/or needed operational changes.
- Participates in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and retention of staff.
- Provides clinical and managerial direction and leadership to the clinical team, including clinical mentors when applicable.
- Provides oversight of patient care services and staff. Oversight includes making patient and staff assignments, coordinating patient care, coordinating referrals, including assessing appropriateness of providing services in the home setting, assuring that patient needs are continually assessed, and assuring the development, implementation, and updating of the individualized plan of care.
- Provides good customer relations by maintaining open, timely communications with patients, associates, physicians, patients' primary referral facilities and other community resources.
- Represents the Agency at Community and Professional functions and in community outreach efforts.
- Works collaboratively with all MHHC leaders to improve patient satisfaction and associate satisfaction.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
