Job Description


The Director of Inventory & Allocation will partner closely with Merchandise Planning and Finance, Distribution Centers, Logistics and Production to create the strategy, analyze status, drive, and monitor corresponding actions needed to meet inventory goals across multiple channels and warehouse locations. This leader will work cross functionally to determine metrics and reporting needs, work to create and continuously improve processes to meet requirements across key stakeholders. Develop inventory strategies to optimize revenue and customer delivery. Lead the continued improvement of the inventory management function to optimize yield across the business through strategies and systems to drive operational excellence.

  • Lead and manage end-to-end, omni-channel inventory management, allocation, and order fulfillment from PO creation to DC in-stock through to end of product lifecycle, including consolidation or disposition.
  • Oversee allocation for all channels to ensure timely inventory availability (planned intro dates, marketing and promotional events, or store openings), appropriate inventory levels based on target metrics (store capacity, WOS, or shipment plans), and cohesive assortments without gaps in sizes, colors, or programs.
  • Direct Wholesale order allocation integrity: ensure submission and entry of sales orders by required due dates, review and validation of wholesale costs, start and cancel dates, and product restrictions, and equitable ATS allocations that consider order entry dates and account prioritization strategies.
  • Ensure in-stock position on core items and manage tracking of inventory ownership by age, season, out-store-date, and lifecycle (basic, seasonal basic, and fashion) to ensure timely and profitable liquidation of seasonal items or aged inventory.
  • Review analysis of inventory opportunities and risks and recommend actions to optimize inventory position, including promotions, reorders, reflows, size curve adjustments, or cancellations as well as presenting out data to leadership
  • Partner with stores team to identify and resolve any on-hand inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain effective communication with the DC, Channel partners and store teams; advise on the status of inbound assortment, new product launches, and out-of-stock items.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • 7-10 years’ experience of proven work experience in Inventory Management, Demand or Supply Planning, Allocation in an omni-channel environment
  • Apparel experience, preferred
  • Proven ability to manage, interpret and report on financial metrics such as margin, forecast reconciliation, inventory purchase plan reconciliation, inventory turns, life cycle management and style productivity
  • Experience with greige forecasting, fabric liability and other responsive supply chain structures
  • Extremely proficient in Excel
  • A hands-on problem solver with a willingness work in the details and find opportunities to change process to drive efficiencies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to change and new processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively across several cross functional teams
  • Proven track record in building processes in a high growth environment
