The Practice
Southern Oregon Orthopedics & Paragon Orthopedic Center form the largest orthopedic group in southern Oregon and is growing rapidly. The practice is currently comprised of 19 physicians, 17 Physician Assistants, 2 Nurse Practitioners and a support staff of approximately 100, which will increase with the expansion of the practice which is forecast to double in size over the next three to four years.
The Position
To support the current organization and their growth, the practice is creating the position of Director of Human Resources to build a human resources function. This new role will plan, direct, and implement policies for all areas of human resources including: staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. The Director of Human Resources will report to the CEO and be an integral part of the senior leadership team including the COO, CIO, CFO, and Controller. As a start-up function, the role does not currently have any direct reports other than administrative support.
A successful candidate will be a self-starting, experienced HR professional who can centralize existing HR functions and responsibilities and bring human resources expertise to this sophisticated, successful, highly respected medical practice.

- Manage human resources by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling staff
- Performance management; appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions;
- Analysis and oversight of benefit plans; move the practice to a self-insured model in 2024
- Administer staff compensation and compensation structure; evaluate competitive, market rate compensation
- Serve as a business partner; support management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and HR decision making.
- Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Communicate and model organization values.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Update job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
- Minimum 5 or more years human resources management experience
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
