Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Human Resources Director is responsible for ensuring the agency is following all applicable federal, state, and other regulatory agencies’ laws, rules, and regulations. Keep Executive Director abreast of changes in all laws, rules, and regulations.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources.
  • Experience with a Non-profit agency and licensed community and licensed community a plus.
  • Requires Bachelor's, or Master's preferred, SPHR, SHRM-SCP or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated success in driving change and shaping an organization's structure.
  • Strong understanding of the functional and technical components of HR including strategic planning, organizational and leadership development, talent management, recruiting, compensation, payroll, benefits, leaves, HRIS, employee relations, and training and development.
  • Excellent analytical, facilitation, and communication skills to all levels of the organization.
  • Proven record of leading authentically, building trusting relationships and creating highly engaged teams.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to create synergies.

Essential Functions/Skills:

  • Maintain HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company's mission and strategic vision.
  • Manages the overall strategic direction, planning, coordination, administration and evaluation of the human resource function.
  • Developing and implementing human resources policies and strategies that advance strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with leadership team to implement strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, safety, training and development, etc.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Work with the company's executive management team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
  • Ensure that programs are developed, managed, and modified appropriately to increase impact and value to the community. Ensure excellent delivery of services modeled after CARF standards, internal processes, and in compliance with the agency’s goals.
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, competitive total reward strategy that enables the company to deliver the business objectives and attract, hire, develop, reward and retain top talent.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits.
  • Direct administrative and operational processes including payroll, benefits, leaves, worker's compensation, safety committee, employee orientations, trainings, etc.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures including the Employee Handbook, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Manage employee relations by providing high-quality customer service when responding to employee requests and questions; identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner; gathering and analyzing information and determining the best course of action.
  • Lead and manage benefits enrollment for eligible employees and annual open enrollment process; educate employees about benefit plans and plan changes. Serve as a liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve benefit-related problems and ensure positive employee relations. It also includes management of terminations, claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating one-on- one with employees regarding their employee benefits.
  • Navigate, coordinate and manage legal compliance of all medical, disability, and leave of absence issues, FMLA leaves, and ADA.
  • Direct the workers' compensation claims process; coordinating return to work between employee, supervisor, and insurance carrier.
  • Manage employee HRIS system from recruitment and on-boarding to termination and coordinating all HR reporting.
  • Maintain employee online records and files of documents relating to new-hire, personnel, payroll, benefits, workers compensation, leaves of absence and on-going employment requirements.
  • Manage performance management program, providing manager training as needed.
  • Supports implementation of the DEI human resources related strategies.
  • Other administrative duties as assigend.
