WESTSIDE IS LOOKING FOR A DIRECTOR TO LEAD THE EXTERNAL AFFAIRS TEAM!

The Director of External Affairs is primarily responsible for fund development, marketing, community relations, outreach and communications as well as program management and grants management. The Director of External Affairs supervises a team of fund development, communications, and outreach staff.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and implement strategic external communications that raise the profile and enhance the reputation of Westside Family Healthcare in the state of Delaware, the region and the nation, including writing press releases, coordinating press events, managing community relations and grassroots activities, supporting patient education activities, and developing marketing campaigns
  • Plan and implement fund development activities that align with Westside Family Healthcare’s strategic plan, including grant writing, communicating with and reporting to funders, and ensuring that WFH complies with grant conditions
  • Implement a comprehensive fundraising program that meets Westside’s deliverables. Strategies and tactics include public and private funder solicitation, individual donor development, special fundraising events and annual giving
  • Represent Westside Family Healthcare on community boards, coalitions, and committees as directed
  • Plan, direct, and manage advocacy activities, monitoring and tracking federal, state, and local legislation affecting WFH, acting as an organizational liaison to the National Association for Community Health Centers and Mid-Atlantic Association for Community Health Centers, and providing monthly advocacy reports to the Executive Administrative Team and the Board of Directors
  • Work collaboratively with operational and clinical directors to support Westside’s strategic plan and annual operating goals.
  • Develop and manage the budget for external communications, fund development activities and fundraising
  • Provide staff support of the Community Relations and Fund Development Committee of the Board of Directors
  • Perform program development and implementation as assigned
Requirements:

MINIMUM OBJECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public health administration, marketing, social services, finance or other related field
  • Three to five years of experience in a manager level healthcare administration or non-profit fundraising role
  • Six Month of experience using Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, FrontPage)

PREFERRED OBJECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in business administration, public health administration, marketing, social services, finance or other related field
  • Five or more years of experience in a manager level healthcare administration or nonprofit fundraising role
