Overview:
The Director of Direct Mail shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.

This position leads the mail fundraising program and is the immediate supervisor of the Direct Response Campaign Manager, together selecting and managing all inside and outside resources required for a well-functioning program.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with the Senior Director of Direct Response to create income and expense budgets that achieve goals set by national leadership.
  • Leads team that sets direct mail strategy, determines tactics, and ensures successful production of both House and Acquisition campaigns within set budgets.
  • Selects and manages vendors for House audience selection and Acquisition list rental.
  • Works closely with the Data Analyst to ensure accurate delivery of campaign audiences.
  • Analyzes response data to help inform and guide future campaigns decisions.
  • Approves all invoices for payment by the Campaign Manager
  • Convenes bi-annual meetings with direct mail production and list vendors

Periodic Tasks
  • Other fundraising campaigns as assigned by the Senior Director of Direct Response.
  • Attends periodic training to maintain and improve job-related skills

Qualifications:
  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators
  • Holds an Associate Degree in Business or related education and at least three years of experience in large-scale direct mail fundraising.
  • Accurate with reporting and data analysis.
  • Uses mature interpersonal skills to lead a small team of specialists.
  • Uses intermediate accounting skills to manage expenses and monitor income.
  • Capable of negotiating with vendors and freelancers.
  • Skillful in prioritizing tasks and time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to become proficient in Workday, Basecamp, and Salesforce applications.
Compensation Range: $70,000 to $94,000/year
