Director of Development
Mount St. Dominic Academy is an independent 9-12 all-girls high school, sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Dominic. The school is uniquely situated in western Essex County and draws from The Caldwells, West Essex, Cedar Grove, Verona, Montclair, Glen Ridge, as well as Bloomfield, Belleville, Newark, and The Oranges. We seek resumes from qualified individuals of diverse backgrounds interested in a Director of Development position, who will openly uphold and demonstrate the mission, vision, and core values of Mount St. Dominic Academy.
Essential roles and responsibilities of the Director of Development include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collaborate with the Development Staff: Alumnae Director, Communications Coordinator, and Marketing Director.
- Provide strategic direction and manage all aspects of fund development i.e. annual giving, capital campaigns, and planned giving.
- Work with the Head of School to identify funding needs, and in turn coordinate narrative for funding requests with the grant writer.
- Plan, implement and manage all special events, including cultivation and organization of volunteers.
- Successfully track and record all gifts and pledges, and process all acknowledgements.
- Identify and coordinate the members of the Development Committee of the Board of Trustees, and serve as ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees.
- Serve as the liaison for the MSDA Parents’ Association and the administration.
