Director of Business Development Job at RLF Architects (Rogers, Lovelock & Fritz, Inc)
The Director of Business Development, in collaboration with the President, shall have responsibility to formulate and implement business development plans and strategies consistent with the mission and vision of the firm. This role will have direct supervisory duties over the market sector leaders.
In this role you will:
- Research new business potential and develop new leads, with a focus on RLF key market sectors. Secure new profitable work to ensure the company’s sustainability and growth.
- Will lead the various Market Sector teams.
- Develop short-term and long-term business plans of the firm in line with the overall company growth and strategic objectives.
- Work with management and technical staff to identify project opportunities and lead pursuit efforts.
- Assist the presentation team to prepare qualifications, proposals, and presentation rehearsals.
- Review and comment on proposed contracts.
- Initiate and maintain communication with clients and A/E contacts to maintain positive business relationships.
- Attend conferences and trade shows and networking events in order to promote RLF’s image and brand.
- Keep abreast of overall business trends including the current business climate within assigned market sectors. Research cross-marketing opportunities.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, architecture, engineering, or related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
- 7-10 years previous professional services marketing and/or business development experience. 3-5 years supervisory or management experience.
- Previous A/E/C industry experience preferred. Experience in healthcare and/or federal strongly preferred.
- The ability to present a positive image of RLF at various business functions, industry conferences, professional association meetings, etc.
- The ability to be resourceful and creative in challenging situations.
- Experience in business development, sales, building client relationships and general business management.
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, emotional intelligence, and communications skills.
- Must be proficient in use of MS Word, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Proficiency with MS Project and business development/CMS software is beneficial.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. This position will be located in our Orlando office with the ability to work a hybrid schedule.
