Director of Accounting
We seek a Director of Accounting to supervise, monitor, and evaluate the day-to-day accounting activities for a school in South Doral off the Palmetto. This position covers full-cycle accounting functions such as accounts payable and receivable, prepaid accounts, fixed assets, accrual expenses, payroll, taxes, and financial reporting.
You’ll earn $75,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on your prior experience, and enjoy an excellent benefits package.
As the Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for conducting full monthly close by the 15th of the following month. This includes:
- Obtaining authorizations for invoice payments.
- Preparing checks and ACH disbursements.
- Updating asset lists.
- Providing full reporting to the President and CEO of cash, balance sheets, ratios, and profit and loss.
- Reconciling bank accounts and ensuring outstanding checks are reissued.
- Drafting annual forecasts.
- Overseeing the preparation, filing, and payment of Sales and Use Taxes, Ohio CAT Taxes, and other state filings, as needed.
- Recording collections and deposits.
- Interacting with banks regarding account issues, products, and services, as needed.
To be considered for this position, you must have at least two (2) years of experience as a Director of Accounting and a bachelor’s degree. Prior experience working in a school is preferred, but not required.
