In our continued transformation from a real estate company to a customer experience company, we are seeking a Director of Lease Accounting, responsible for providing strategic management of all lease accounting and administration functions, including planning, organization, staffing, and management of third-party service providers. This includes management of business processes, operational efficiencies and measurable progress toward achievement of key department and Company goals.

How you will contribute to what we do:

• Oversee all lease accounting responsibilities and staff.
• Work hand in hand with all financial areas, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Accounting, and Internal Audit. Interface with various departments to ensure completeness, accuracy, and data integrity of lease information.
• Work with IT to enhance existing systems as necessary and help identify, create, develop, and deploy new tools, database systems and reporting capabilities to increase efficiencies, data integrity, accuracy, and transparency across all areas of the company.
• Work with Lease Accounting Manager and team to analyze issues, identify, and propose strategy for negotiations to various stakeholders, including Legal, Marketing/Partnerships, and Leasing (Leasing Reps, Leasing Executives). Identify and communicate the issues proactively for timely resolution of issues.
• Foster teamwork between other areas of the organization and foster key relationships with internal and external customers to provide outstanding customer service.
• Maintain intimate industry knowledge to ensure compliance with the best interest of the assets, and Company; Identify problem areas and recommend action plans to mitigate risks.
• Striving for continuous improvement, drive metrics and cost-effective processes. Utilize best practices to gather all information, perform workflow analyses to identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and streamline efforts within the department’s processes and systems. Design, plan, and work with the staff to implement and manage accordingly.
• Provide consistent communication across all departments (field teams, leasing, tenant coordination, finance/accounting) and make sure all teams are aligned.
• Manage, develop, coach, mentor, and lead staff. Set clear expectations and goals for the team.
• Assist staff in procedures, lease interpretation, calculations, tenant audits, and other functions as needed
• Assist in special projects and/or performs other duties as assigned.

• You posses a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Real Estate or related discipline and seven (7) years of commercial/retail real estate lease accounting experience along with the ability to understand, interpret and abstract commercial leases is required. Five (5) plus years of manager level experience and three (3) plus years of lease administration experience is also required.
• Ten (10) plus years of commercial real estate lease accounting experience, five (5) plus years of lease administration experience and/or an MBA is preferred.
