We are looking for a strategic and self-motivated individual to implement consistent and effective cutting-edge IT based broadcast solutions. The position requires strong team management and leadership skills and a wide range of technical knowledge necessary to design, maintain, and install broadcast and IT equipment in both studio and outside facilities.

The role requires someone who is resourceful and innovative and prides themselves on the quality and effectiveness of their work. This person provides thought leadership that cuts through ambiguity. You will be part of a larger team of media professionals developing and delivering engaging in-person and digital event experiences.

Responsibilities

  • In-house leadership and production support of live and recorded programming requires a thorough systems knowledge of broadcast IT infrastructure which includes:
  • Technical spaces (control rooms, studios, terminal gear/equipment/central apparatus/distribution riser rooms and data centers) and
  • Associated production systems (A/V routing, signal processing, cameras, switchers, audio mixers, intercom, encoders/encoding, feeds/edit systems, master control, automation and transmission systems. Knowledge of Cloud Computing & Virtual Private Cloud is a plus.)
  • A strong IT and data networking knowledge is also necessary to work in an facility transitioning to IP and IT centric broadcast/multimedia infrastructure.
  • Collaboration with team members, Clients, Partners, and other support groups is required to troubleshoot and resolve issues with broadcast/multimedia systems and computers in our production environments.
  • This position will primarily provide facility-based support. However, there may be occasions requiring travel to support of outside productions/events or to provide technical support to upgrade outside broadcast facilities.
  • A willingness to adapt to changing priorities, and the ability to solve complex technical problems independently and with team members is essential to be successful in this position. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written) are required.

Qualifications


Required/Minimum Qualifications


  • 7+ years experience in program management, digital content publishing and management, or experience in a writing or editing role
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years people management experience.

Preferred Qualificiations:

  • 4 or more years of experience in television, multimedia content, IT client service or broadcast maintenance capacity, with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot broadcast and computer equipment.
  • 2+ years of management experience, leading team members in the Broadcast and IT discipline.
  • A thorough understanding of SMPTE 2110
  • Lead a team of Supplies and Integrators to complete build out of SMPTE 2110.
  • Expertise in managing a direct team of 3 plus expanded vendor/supplier team of 25+
  • Demonstrated experience with television, broadcast or multimedia production workflows.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with basic server, networking topology and operating systems (e.g., Windows, Unix, etc.)
  • Must be willing to be on call for coverage of critical technical systems.
  • Willingness to research and understand proprietary equipment and applications.
  • Understanding of LED Digital Wall systems and related media processing systems
  • Manufacturer-provided broadcast training from companies such as Sony, Riedel, Lawo, Evertz, etc
  • Microsoft network certification/MS Office Suite
  • Visio experience.
  • Familiarity with ITSM Service Management processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer desktop hardware/applications
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure systems including routers, intercom, monitoring, KVM, audio suites and other live production related gear.

Content Program Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets (see below). The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role (except as noted below); the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
