Director, DEI People & Culture Job at The Vitamin Shoppe
The Vitamin Shoppe is currently looking for a Director of DEI People & Culture to lead the DEI center of excellence for the Company. They will be responsible for developing and leading the DEI business strategy, partnering with leadership across lines of business and providing subject matter expertise on relevant inclusion practices, and enhancing our inclusion brand both inside and outside the company.
The Director, DEI People & Culture reports to the VP, People Experience.
Responsibilities:- Provide subject matter expertise and DEI counsel to problem solve, design, and deliver strategic, solutions and partner with DEI leaders across enterprise-wide initiatives
- Oversee and provide support in the areas of talent identification process, governance, KPIs, budget, annual planning, quarterly reporting, membership, and activations
- Partner with key stakeholders on an integrated DEI strategy connected to all HR functions
- Develop strategies to streamline and connect DEI and company priorities
- Partner and collaborate with Business Leaders to assure that our strategy and engagement is meaningful and impactful across the company
- Conduct ongoing research on best practices and recommend strategies for continuous improvement of diversity initiatives
- Lead the DEI Action Team to guide them on DE&I practices and individual development
- Identify, develop, and foster relationships with industry thought leaders, consultants, vendors, and partners to apply best practice thinking
- Share best practices to support the development of an inclusive environment across the enterprise for leaders
- Proven track record of ability to influence and partner with business leaders to successfully drive large scale organizational initiatives and gain their commitment and support
- Effectively exhibits active and empathetic listening skills
- Demonstrates the desire and ability to strategically act on feedback
- A natural orientation for collaboration, with inherent understanding about when to lead and when to support
- Evidence of managing a wide array of stakeholder communications and relationships (internal and external) in a complex business environment
- The ability to garner trust from stakeholders at all levels

- Ability to think conceptually and strategically, while maintaining a results-driven approach

- Familiarity with key aspects of HR, including recruitment, employee relations, L&D, and training
- Possess essential soft skills including Communication, Teamwork, Collaboration, Flexibility, Problem Solving, Active Listening, Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence and Conflict Resolution
- Strong strategic development skills
- Demonstrate inclusive leadership behaviors
- Ability to lead effective meetings
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of professional work
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working on DE&I initiatives, projects and/or strategies
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing leadership, organizational & change management initiatives, or similar initiatives and ability to successfully engage in and manage community relationships required
- Remote position with Travel to Corporate HQ as needed
