This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional to join BeiGene’s Global Technology Services team, that values creative thinking, speed, efficiency and pragmatism. Reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Architecture Services, we are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Director of Data & Analytics to establish, mature and operationalize data request, data ingestion, data purchases, and analytics requests. This leader will help drive alignment with business department leaders to ensure the framework, methodology and process of data request and delivery to end user is efficient and scalable.
This is a leadership role who will lead and build out a team to oversee management of enterprise databases, ensuring safety and security of all data, translating data protection and governance policies into technical solutions and ensuring they get adopted across the organization and ensuring always-on access to data for stakeholders across the company.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Provide leadership and management to a team of support staff and data engineers, including offshore team, in managing processes and their work flow
- Build a robust process in consultation with data architects and solution engineers for releases to production cloud environments with appropriate roles and responsibilities for build and run teams with data analytics function.
- Manage the portfolio of business requests, oversee requirements gathering, and communicate request status.
- Work in collaboration with the Enterprise Data Architecture & Solution Design group to operationalize new designs and technologies.
- Oversee and catalog data acquisitions and purchase globally with eye towards financial excellence, deduplication of data and centralization with goal of making data easily available to appropriate end users.
- Develop short term and long term plans in the data services function in alignment with and support for BeiGene’s Clinical global business unit strategies and goals, business plans, submission support and operating requirements and efficiencies
- Build and develop high performing teams and relationships with internal and external development teams located globally and in China
- Manage data pipelines and ETL builds by data engineers from internal and external data sources ensuring 24x7 uptime with eye towards further automation and scalability.
- Build and own automations and monitoring frameworks that captures metrics and operational KPIs for data pipelines quality and performance
- Evolve architectural capabilities and maturity of data platform by engaging with architects, and strategic internal and external partners
- Define and manage SLAs for data pipelines and query performance
- Support large scale experimentation done by data scientists across the organization.
- Develop a staffing model that can support surges in engineering and data support requests with onshore/offshore resources.
- Prototype and build pilots for new approaches
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in operations/production support, data and analytics engineering and experience working with product teams in an agile delivery model
- 10+ years of experience managing software or data engineering team in cloud based data operations
- 5+ years of proven leadership at a senior level managing a team of direct reports and associate staff
- Experience with managing and working directly with enterprise data warehouse, data mart, data lakes and data analytics platforms in the cloud such as Azure or AWS
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Able to influence and communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with team members and business stakeholders. Experience resolving end-to-end issues with higher levels of management.
- Working knowledge of bio-pharma industry and clinical trials is preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage team members (employees and contingent workers) at global sites, including coaching and mentoring of staff with training and professional development.
- Must be an effective leader and communicator and considered to be a developer of people comfortable working with a broad cross-section of people in direct and matrixed relationships

Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field/experiences

Salary Range: $156,200.00 - $216,200.00 annually

Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
