Job Summary/Objective

Job Description
Summary of Responsibilities: Oversees coding work processes, client relations and employees assigned to specific remote coding accounts.
Essential Functions:
1) Responsible for overall compliance with large customer coding accounts, including but not limited to client satisfaction, meeting or exceeding contract terms, specified turnaround, quality levels and report requirements. Responsible for implementation/design of Remote coding policies, procedures and workflow.
2) Communicates with assigned clients on a daily/weekly basis to assure obligations are met and any issues are resolved timely. Monitor client projections/forecasting and profit margins with the VP of Remote Operations
3) Supervise assigned LexiCode staff to include, but not limited to, scheduling, oversight of code assignments, PCS validation, training requirements, performance evaluations, performance corrective action plans, time and attendance, discipline, and overall compliance to policy and procedures.
4) Evaluates ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and/or HCPCS codes and coding processes in accordance with LexiCode negotiated coding contracts. Evaluations are based on interpretation of physician documentation and supporting information, furnished by the Client and made in accordance with official CMS approved (AHA and AMA) coding guidelines and other parameters that might be furnished by the Client. Develops accompanying recommendations, corrective action and implementation plans. Update skill and knowledge levels in accordance with CMS approved (AHA and AMA) coding changes.
5) Complies with confidentiality standards, including HIPAA privacy regulations, found in the Employee Handbook.

  • Intermediate knowledge of computerized applications, for example, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software

Educational Requirements: Completion of a Health Information bachelors’ or associates’ degree program with RHIA or RHIT credential are highly preferred and desired.

Credential Requirements: Employees must maintain a coding or health information credential appropriate for their work assignment. RHIA, RHIT or CCS credentials are highly preferred and desired.

Required Experience: Must have 3-5 years prior coding management experience
