Position Overview:
As the Center of Excellence Director you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the Motiva’s Center of Excellence (COE) organization. You will oversee a team of CoE leaders and be responsible for ensuring that the program supports Aramco’s strategic objectives and drives innovation and excellence across the organization. This role supports Motiva and Aramco’s strategy by delivering sustained cash growth, exercising strict financial discipline and stewardship. The Director of CoE is also responsible for identifying, supporting, and/or developing commercial opportunities, providing input and challenge to affiliate business unit strategies, ensuring alignment across different disciplines and levels in the company, and executing strategic initiatives that deliver sustained, industry-leading performance. This role is critical in driving collaboration, innovation and excellence across the Motiva, Aramco and affiliates. It requires strategic thinking with a passion for innovation and a track record of driving results.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of the CoE program, including the identification of focus areas and the creation of goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance to CoE leaders and oversee the development of new programs and initiatives.
- Develop and manage the CoE program budget and ensure that resources are allocated effectively.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the CoE program and make recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure that the CoE program is aligned with the Motiva and Aramco’s overall strategy and goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the CoE program is integrated into the organization's operations.
- Provide leadership and direction to the CoE team and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Aramco affiliates, external partners and stakeholders to support the CoE program.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or science.
- 10+ years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in research and development or innovation-related programs.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Established network of industry contacts.
- Experience working closely with Joint Venture and private equity structures.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills with a track record of driving innovation and excellence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Experience managing budgets and resources effectively.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically and to innovate new solutions.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team as well as inform and influence high levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated with the ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple work activities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of project economic principles including DCF modeling
- Ability to develop and execute comprehensive negotiation strategies for complex commercial opportunities
- Ability to develop and execute complex structured commercial opportunities with different partnering strategies
