Direct to Consumer Manager Job at Trinchero Family Estates
Tasting Room Manager is responsible for managing all day to day operations in the tasting room. This includes building brand awareness and exceeding guest expectations by working with and through the staff and other departments to enhance sales, service, and visitor experience. The Tasting Room Manager is responsible for achieving revenue and wine club growth goals while managing staff and operating expenses.
Essential Functions:

Management/Leadership:
- Manage TFE Tasting Room staff (and temporary personnel) in the day to day operations and manages quality of performance to ensure top customer service to all guests.
- Manages all the Tasting Room staff scheduling
- Responsible for the selection of top talent in the tasting room group.
- Establish the tone of leadership and empowerment of the staff by creating a positive and respectful work environment, by leading through example, consistent with the Trinchero Family values
- Responsible for completion of annual performance reviews ensuring they are effective and completed on time. Provide immediate, respectful and constructive feedback both positive and opportunity areas on employee performance. Responsible for disciplinary actions within the TFE guidelines.
- Manages and implements career planning and personal development of staff.
- Key liaison with the Wine Club Coordinator, Brand Management, social media, and PR teams.
- Manages and presents the brand marketing image of the Tasting Room.
Training:
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the POS system (Commerce7) and Office application and responsible for training staff on all the systems
- Support and provide guidance for required training of team and ensures adherence to all policies, procedures and governmental regulations.
- Understand and teach the Sales processes (customer service skills) resulting in club memberships and increased sales.
- Ensure all staff members are educated and proficient (including temporary support) on all the TFE brands and Company history.
- Educate team to promote the Club Membership program to increase sales
Financial Planning:
- Establish and maintain financial goals for the Tasting Room areas that will achieve yearly budget projections. Monitor sales and make recommendations for improvements to increasing sales.
- Manages the P&L and assists the Senior Director with the annual budget
- Manage and track the KPI’s monthly and report and adjust to plan
- Manage the merchandising strategy and planning
- Direct and manage the monthly and annual inventory requirements (wine and non-wine items)
- Complete all end of day and end of month reports for Finance. Generate required daily and monthly required financial reports.
- Manage special assignments and projects as required
- Manages the tasting experiences, tasting menus and pricing
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent supervisory experience.
- Years of Experience: Three or more years of winery hospitality or retail management experience. Supervisory experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual Skills preferred
- Strong analytical, math skills and computer skills
- Effective sales management skills with a proven track record and innovative techniques for increasing revenue
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Strong professional customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision
- Enthusiasm for wine in general and Trinchero Family Estates and its products in particular
Working Conditions:
- Office and retail environments
- Extensive computer work
- Regular working schedule may include weekends and holidays
- Long and irregular hours during peak seasons and/or special events
- Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilities
- Standing for long periods of time (2-4 hours per day)
- Moderate to heavy physical work (moving wine cases and retail supplies, setting up for special events), carrying case(s) of wine to customer’s vehicle after purchase
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds (case of wine)
- Comply with company safety regulations
Salary Range: $63,700.00 - $95,500.00
The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location. TFE offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, PTO, wellness programs and fertility and family building benefits. We also provide a 401(k) plan where TFE may make a discretionary profit-sharing contribution.
