1:1 Part-time Support Staff Need - Syracuse, NY

A young man in Syracuse is looking for a 1:1 support staff 3 days per week after school and Saturdays. He is looking for staff to support his love of roller blading, swimming, movies, and video games. Support staff would assist this young man in developing independent living skills as well as help him identify any recreational activities he might be interested in. A typical afternoon may include roller blading at Onondaga Lake Park and taking in a movie at Destiny USA, while encouraging social interaction skills. The ideal candidate is reliable, outgoing, energetic, friendly, and will support him to fully enjoy and participate in his hobbies and interests. Any potential applicant should also be comfortable working in a home with animals this young man has 2 cats within his home.

This is a part-time position but additional hours are available with other people receiving services

at the agency.

Hours and days of work: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 3:00pm-8:00pm Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm

Starting pay: Starting pay is $17/hour and increases with years of relevant experience

Location: Syracuse, NY

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community
• Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
• No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred
• New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community

All job offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check completed by Exceptional Family Resources (EFR).
