Queens Centers for Progress, a human services agency, providing person-centered services for children and adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is seeking Direct Support Professionals.

Duties:

The Direct Support Professional provides comprehensive care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a day program or in their homes. Works on ADL goals, arts and crafts projects, zoom activities and assists with personal hygiene needs, performs various housekeeping tasks and train and assist individuals in the use of community resources, i.e., parks, library and other recreational facilities. Teach our guys to be independent & have fun while teaching them.

Various shifts available for the residential program from evenings (3:00 pm to 11:00 pm) and (4:00 pm-12:00 am), early mornings (6:00 am-10:00 am) and weekends shifts (8:00 am-4:00 pm, 4:00 pm-12:00 am). Day Program hours, 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday.

REQUIREMENTS: HSD/GED is required. A valid New York State driver’s license for close to 3 years is required. Prior work experience in a human service field working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred. The ability to write daily entries or notes about the client’s services is required. Great position to break into the field of human services.
