(DOL) is to create economic opportunity within the DC metropolitan region’s marginalized communities, by building a healthy equitable food system. Job SummaryThe Development Manager is a core member of the Development Department. Expanding DOL’s current portfolio of funders, submitting proposals while maintaining relationships, the Development Manager will work at generating revenue for the implementation of core programs. This position reports to Co-Development Directors.

ResponsibilitiesDreaming Out Loud, an innovative and growing organization, is seeking to hire a Development Manager. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications below:
- Write letters of intent and grant proposals in collaboration with other staff for funding solicitations
- Conduct prospective funder research and develop a robust list of mission aligned funders
- Participate in the development of overall fundraising strategy
- Write and edit grant-related documents in collaboration with the Programs Department
- Retrieve and maintain feedback on submitted proposals (where applicable)
- Update the organization’s grants calendar and reports calendar
- Communicate with programs and food hub team, funders and other collaborators as required
- Prepare reports and ensure they are submitted in a timely fashion
- Assist with securing and fulfilling sponsorships
- Compile relevant research data and statistics for the preparation of grants
- Assist with the implementation of donor recognition and stewardship activities
- Other duties as assigned

3-5 years of experience working on preparing and submitting proposals in the nonprofit sector - Demonstrated ability to multitask, meet deadlines, work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Passionate about making a difference in the lives of marginalized people
