Hospice & Community Care of Rock Hill, SC is actively hiring a Development Director to work Full Time!
The Development Director is responsible for securing funding through a variety of methods, building key relationships with community partners, and managing our donor database. Fundraising methods will include grant writing, direct mail campaigns, soliciting major gifts, and donor events. The Development Director works under the general direction and supervision of the Chief Growth Officer.
What You’ll Do:
- Utilize multiple strategies (direct mail, major gifts, grants, etc) to secure funding to support the mission of Hospice & Community Care.
- Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors through the stages of discovery, qualification, engagement, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Utilize and manage the online donor database, Raisers Edge, to update donor profiles, complete direct mailing lists, and track fundraising goals.
- Travel within Hospice & Community Care service area as appropriate to meet with major gift prospects, donors, and community partners.
- Manage grant writing efforts and explore funding opportunities through new grants.
- Work collaboratively with Board of Directors, other development staff and volunteers to plan, coordinate and accomplish overall organization objectives.
- Plan and produce events to engage donors and the community with our mission, raise funds, and bring awareness to Hospice & Community Care.
- Maintain a performance plan including a projection of total dollars raised and the method used to secure the funds.
- Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Sales or 3 years of fundraising experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of fundraising experience is generally preferred
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a personal vehicle.
- Ability to travel within service area for donor meetings and events.
- Knowledge of Raisers Edge relational database software.
- Candidate must be knowledgeable of major gift programs and able to work a prospect portfolio through move management techniques.
- Candidate must be comfortable in networking, professional and private environments where he/she is the face of Hospice & Community Care.
- Must possess excellent written, oral, and collaborative communication skills to create messages through written letters, emails, presentations, and proposals.
- Must possess basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.
