We are looking for an associate to support the growth of our development and construction team.

The Development Associate is responsible for support for managing all phases of the development and/or redevelopment and construction of assigned properties from the time of initial due diligence & site acquisition through stabilized occupancy.

QUALIFICATIONS: *

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (architecture, business, real estate)

Training & Experience:

  • Two (2) plus years’ experience in any of the following highly desired: development coordinator, development associate, development manager, or real estate coordinator, real estate associate
  • Excellent organizational and people skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse set of personalities
  • Can work collaboratively, but also independently with limited direction

Technology:

  • Expert in Microsoft Office; specifically, Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Expert in use of Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, as well as Bluebeam
  • Proficient in use of CAD/Revit or similar design software
  • Computer literate – able to prepare correspondence, access information from property management software, and conduct business via e-mail and internet.

Licenses, Certifications & Special Requirements:

  • Passion for real estate

Performance Measures:

  • Ability to meet stated objectives in an effective and timely manner

Travel:

  • Occasional

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Track monthly construction progress, including maintaining updated schedules, and ensuring that all project milestones are met with accurate status reports provided to team members
  • Coordinate the processing and administrating of contracts and applications for payment, tracking scope, pricing, performance, and adherence to budget and schedule
  • Direct experience with prospective tenant letters of intent (LOI’s), work letters, leases, and lease exhibits preparation, review, and negotiation
  • Assist construction & development team with implementation, and confirmation of tenant and company obligations as detailed in lease and work letter agreements
  • Document and file maintenance and management
  • Cross-collaborate with leasing and asset management team members, external brokers, as well as external real estate and construction managers
  • Works with acquisition team members to assess feasibility for potential site (both land and existing property) acquisitions including property condition, entitlement probability, financial and market analysis, initial product identification, environmental studies, engineering, and land use studies, etc.
