About the role:
As Kyte’s Design Lead, you will oversee all digital product design and lead the design team in building and shipping products and related materials. You will apply broad UI and UX principles to make design decisions for both internal and external products based on user research and shadowing. You are passionate about providing customers simplicity and making products delightful and easy to use.
What You’ll Do
- Own the UI and UX for Kyte’s internal operating system, Fleet, from end to end; empowering our Operations, Finance, and Supply teams to scale their workflows around a new Information Architecture.
- Together with the existing Product and Design team, own the end-to-end Kyte brand identity and vision.
- Oversee all design operations at Kyte, including delivery of customer-facing products and experiences.
- Together with the Head of Product, work to build a vision for Kyte’s design focus for the next 18-24 months.
- Identify opportunities for product or feature enhancements across Kyte’s internal and external suite of products.
- Remain in-the-know with regard to industry trends, market conditions, and customer preferences.
- Be the inspirational Product and Design leader for Kyte, present and review product design ideas with leadership and the broader team/company.
Required
- Minimum 5-7 years of software product experience, encompassing Web and Mobile products
- Experience leading multiple large-scale projects across multiple designers and collaborating with cross-functional company leaders.
- Experience guiding user research and creating new frameworks for user analytics
- Demonstrated proficiency using Figma to produce prototypes and test functionality iteratively.
- Effectively communicate design concepts and roadmaps
- Ability to conduct, interpret, and present qualitative and quantitative feedback and research
- Demonstrated design thinking abilities and successful outcomes through a robust portfolio of successful products
Preferred
- Experience as a founding designer or early member of a startup team
- Extensive experience migrating web application design to a mobile-first interface
- Experience with both consumer-facing and internal-facing product suites
- Experience with mapping and/or geo-spatial application design
- Prior ownership of a brand including: personality traits, voice/tone, typography, and archetype.
This role has a minimum starting salary of $130,000, a competitive equity package (we strongly believe in ownership at all levels), and benefits. The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
