AECOM is seeking a motivated Design Build Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our growing Water Design Build team in our Chelmsford, MA office. This position will be part of an exciting team employing the latest technologies to solve critical water supply, treatment, and infrastructure projects such as water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems throughout the United States and Canada. Position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule, with home office based in Chelmsford, MA.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to work with diverse project teams, travel to various project locations and attend industry conferences and meetings. Joining our Design Build team will also provide you with the opportunity to enhance your career by expanding your knowledge and experience across multiple disciplines, participating in the construction and startup of the work you design, and increasing your exposure to technical and business leaders across multiple regions and geographies within AECOM.
Working as part of a multi-discipline project team in our Water Design Build group you will be involved in all phases of a project from conceptual design, detailed design, through construction and startup. During the design phase the successful candidate will:
- Collaboratively work with a multi discipline design team
- Lead technical designs and evaluations
- Assist Sr. Managers – tracking scope, schedule and budget, adherence to QA/QC guidelines
- Participate in the preparation of Design Build proposals, cost estimates, and schedules
- Prepare design contract documents and specifications
- Work collaboratively with our construction partners to evaluate constructability and cost
- Participate in the selection and procurement of major process equipment
During the construction phase the role will include:
- interfacing with our construction partners to coordinate design and construction submittals, RFIs, change orders and other construction documents
- site visits and inspections
- startup and testing of equipment and systems that you will help design!
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering
- 4+ years of related experience with an emphasis in water/wastewater collection and treatment planning, design, and construction phase services
- EIT/FE
- Experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit
Preferred Requirements:
- Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within one year of employment
- Experience in construction projects
- Experience in the Design Build project delivery method
