DENTAL HYGIENIST
POSITION SUMMARY
At Guru Dental Group, Dental Hygienist plays very important and active role in maintaining our
patients oral health which will help them ensuring confidence in their smile.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows through with oral hygiene procedure as per the individualized treatment plans prescribed by the supervising Dentist
- Review Dental and Medical history, take digital x-rays, charting existing findings in the practice management software
- Examine oral cavity for signs of periodontal disease by thorough periodontal charting , visual oral cancer screening/abnormal soft tissue and enter in patients chart and discuss with the supervising Dentist
- Efficiently perform Procedures which may include: Prophylaxis, Periodontal Scaling and Root Planning, Debridement, Placement of Locally applied Antibiotics , Application of Fluoride Treatment, Application of Protective Sealants, Completion of In-office or take Home Whitening,
- Informs Dentist of possible restorative concerns for further examination and educate patients about that and provide oral hygiene instructions.
- Help managing flow in the office by assisting with radiographs, sterilization and patient education
- Keep operatories neat and clean
COMPLIANCE:
- Keep track of all the maintenance schedules for the hygiene instruments and equipments, digital x-rays, autoclave, compressor, and spore testing on a weekly bases
- Keep track of the emergency kit and first aid supplies to ensure they are stocked and up to date
- Adhere to the OSHA regulations and our dental practice safety requirements, including
HIPPA guidelines, CPR , x-ray and CE certifications as per the PA state regulations
- Help the front desk staff and Dental assistants on your down time and ensure that the office is neat and clean
