The Adirondack North Country Sports Council is the organizing committee for the upcoming FISU World University Winter Games in beautiful Lake Placid during January 2023! We also organize various multi-sport events in the local area. It is an exciting time to join our TEAM!

Position Engagement Period: 1/02/23 to 1/27/23

Job Summary:

The Delegation Services Manager will oversee. registration, campus orientation, distribution of credentials, troubleshooting, policy implementation, reporting, communications as well as the paid an volunteer crew. The Delegation Services Manager will take ownership of HOD concerns, follow challenges through to resolution, ultimately providing extraordinary customer service and an exceptional Games experience.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Delegation (HOD) Liaison

Provide direction and coordination for HOD responsibilities for the Games and supporting events. Serve as advocate for HOD needs and recognition. Assess HOD feedback and make adjustments, as needed. Resolve concerns and grievances, promote cooperation and interest, and provide ongoing support and guidance for delegates. Lead HOD meetings leading up to and during the Games. Supervise the service center paid and volunteer staff. Act as primary liaison with other FA’s to support delegation needs. Keep accurate records and document delegation service actions and discussions. Maintain schedule of volunteer opportunities and needs for assistance from the volunteer crew. Provide post-Games reports that show successes, identify challenges, and offer insight for future events.

Act as the liaison and primary point of contact for HOD. Communicate regularly with the HOD and keep them up to date with important logistical information.

Coordinate with all functional areas to ensure delegations, families and spectators have access to as many opportunities available to Games participants as possible.

• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Must be able to multi-task and utilize sound judgement in a fast-paced environment
• Unflappable temperament with positive energy and sensitivity to cultural needs

Educational and/or Training requirements:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven and/or unmaintained terrain in all kinds of weather conditions, and comfortable working inside and outside for extended periods of time in preparation for the Games and during the Games, in winter weather conditions typical to Northern New York
• Able to lift 40 pounds throughout a shift
