Job Title: Defensive Driving Safety Manager

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Reduction in Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVAs) and the injuries that are a result of those MVAs across TCD's geographic footprint. (FL, SC, NC, TX).
- Evaluation of MVA history and development of a strategy to combat these events.
- Oversee compliance with the rules and regulations of federal, state, and local regulatory agencies regarding the operation of motor vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with TCD and customer safety policies and procedures.
- Present and/or coordinate MVA Prevention training.
- Manage MVA Prevention technology programs.
- Analyze comprehensive data points related to vehicle driving and use this analysis in the development of MVA Prevention Strategy.
- Attend national and regional meetings, trainings, and seminars to stay current on changing laws and regulations related to driving safety.
- Monitor government regulations; federal, state, and local. Update management and drivers on upcoming changes/proposed changes.
- Assist with crash investigations as required.
- Support the comprehensive safety effort at TCD.
- Conduct safety inspections of job sites for recognition and correction of safety hazards.
- Assist foremen/employees with hazard analysis and safety corrective actions.
- Conduct accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and reporting.
- Perform/manage field safety audits, interacting with client site safety personnel.
- Communicate to various groups, including Forepersons, Supervisors, and general contractors.
- Assist in the completion of data entry and management of Worker's Compensation, General Liability, and Motor Vehicle related events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in the successful management of a corporate defensive driving program preferably in the construction-related industry.
- Strong knowledge of the local, state, and federal laws related to motor vehicles and general safety.
- Prior defensive driving trainer experience such as Smith System or National Safety Council.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, training, and organizational skills.
- Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to audit job sites, including climbing ladders, working at heights or enclosed spaces, and in extreme temperatures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to read, analyze and interpret regulations and other documents.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Must reside in or relocate to Altamonte Springs, FL, or surrounding area. Relocation will be paid at the employee s own expense.
Pre-Screen
- Upon offer, employees will be required to subject and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and MVR check.
License & Certifications:
- A valid driver s license with an exceptional driving record is required.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel will be a significant part of this position.
- Ability to travel to all job sites currently in 4 states (FL, SC, NC, TX).
Physical Requirements:
- Rarely (Less than 10%): Kneeling, Crawling, Climbing, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally (Up to 33%): Stilling, Stooping, Squatting, Body twisting, Sense of Touch, Color Vision, Lifting, Climbing Ladders, Climbing Stairs, Balancing.
- Frequently (up to 66%): Standing, Walking, Manual Dexterity, Seeing Distant, Climbing In/Off a truck, Gripping, Lifting over 10 lbs. Reading, Reaching, Range of Motion, Depth Perception, Carrying, Lifting up to 10 lbs.
- Continuously (67% to 100%): Speaking Clearly, Seeing, Hearing - Speech Range.
