The Daycare Teacher will supervise, intentionally engage with, and daily assist in the development of the children in all areas of the program, and will also serve as the front line, professional representation for the daycare.

The Daycare Teacher will maintain a positive environment and provide an atmosphere of acceptance and caring, and will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for each child.

The Daycare Teacher will also assist the Director in planning and then, delivering age-appropriate classroom educational and faith-based curriculum/activities that prepare younger children for the next level - as well as develop skills and support social development.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that the daycare conforms to federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and licensing requirements, and follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records on children in your classroom; accurate completion and communication of incident reports. Accurately log, document, and provide medication and/or creams. Document meals and diaper changes.
  • Developing and maintaining open communication with parents.
  • Overseeing health and development of children, handling illness and injuries, and keeping parents informed of any and all incidents and child’s progress.
  • Sharing housekeeping responsibilities to maintain clean, orderly, and workable rooms/facility.
  • Attending staff meets and stay current on all Company communications.
  • Maintaining all required trainings and implementing all acquired information.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Previous childcare experience is desired, but not required. We have an excellent training program!
  • A desire to serve our clients and the ability to interact with co-workers with a positive and professional attitude, as well as, serve as a front-line representative of the company.
  • Personality traits that exhibit assertiveness, confidence, and a high level of professionalism.
  • A demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and provide role model behavior to the children.
  • Strong sense of urgency and use of good judgment: timely delivery of all tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and with others to support a strong team development.
  • Detail oriented, understands need for confidentiality, and possesses exceptional communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, kneel, twist, climb, balance, crouch or crawl, sometimes for extended periods of time.

Educational and Training Requirements:

  • A high school degree or GED
  • Orientation for Early Care and Education Professionals training and training in Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma (we will provide post hire)
  • Previous childcare experience is desired, but not required.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be able to successfully pass child protective services and criminal background check.
  • Negative TB skin test
  • CPR and First Aid Training (Recommended - if not, we provide)
  • Appropriate training as required by state regulations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

A teacher is responsible for providing direct care, supervising and managing children, and implementing policies and procedures of the daycare program. A teacher should exercise good judgment and decision-making skills at all times. A teacher must operate and perform duties in accordance with institutional regulations and state daycare-licensing provisions. The teacher must posses a warm and friendly personality and must be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others. They must also be able to relate well with children while maintaining a professional attitude towards the children, their families, and other staff, at all times. Open and professional communication is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
