DATA SCIENTIST

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop predictive models and data analyses using large volumes of healthcare data from disparate sources
• Collect data through means such as analyzing business results or by setting up and managing new studies
• Prepare and transfer data into a new format to make it more appropriate for analysis
• Perform data investigation and exploratory data analysis
• Choose best fit potential models and algorithms for model development
• Apply data science techniques, such as machine learning, statistical modeling, and artificial intelligence using modern technologies
• Create reports that validate model performance and help explain the model when presented to stakeholders
• Ability to meet with users and business analysts to understand requirements, translate them into solutions and document technical designs.
• Implement technology projects and support the resulting features in a Production environment.
• Ability to test your work and provide quality deliverables.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Proficiency in Python, as well as common data science Pythin libraries like NumPy, Pandas, and Tensorflow
• Proficiency and experience developing and optimizing Structured Query Language (SQL) to analyze and query data for reporting
• Ability to break down and understand complex business problems, define a solution and implement it using advanced quantitative methods.
• Experience working with engineers to integrate models into application infrastructures
• Proficiency in data modeling and database technologies preferred but not required
• Experience with Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Azure services preferred but not required
• Knowledge on software development principles and architecture preferred but not required
• Strong curiosity, desire to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to work well with people of different backgrounds and skill sets
• Ability to multi-task across a range of diverse projects
• Ability to work independently and in a highly virtual environment, with colleagues all over the country
• Strong technology skills and ability to master working across a range of software programs, including Microsoft Office applications, Jira, Visio
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends when required
• Willingness to cover after-hours support when needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree from highly selective university
• Several years of work experience in a demanding, high-stakes environment such as investment banking or management consulting
• Industry experience in healthcare
