Seeking a candidate for support of F-35 Flight Test Data Processing at Edwards AFB, CA.

Data Processing Job duties include:
  • Receive, process, and troubleshoot IRIG 106 formatted aircraft flight test recording data products per established processes to enable on-board capture and selection of telemetered data from multiple F-35 data buses.
  • Maintain Configuration Control for on-board aircraft Flight Test Recording software over 10 F-35 aircraft.
  • Examine F-35 aircraft recording for anomalies. Diagnose and resolve problems encountered in the recovery of test data.
  • Perform backups for F-35 recording to LTO tapes. Maintain accurate records of tape information and location in the Tape Locator Program database. Package and ship tapes according to customer/program requirements.
  • Coordinate with Operations Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, and leadership teams on issues and status of flight test data.
  • Assist/train engineering teams on how to best utilize the Technical Data Request system according to their data needs.
  • Run Test Data Requests against on-board recorded data, and over-the-air recorded data.
  • Perform Data Transfer Agent duties between security classifications according to security directives to ensure integrity of information and prevent data spills.
  • Support system administration and security requirements.

Information Technology degree and/or Computer Science degree is preferred, but not required (experience with Data Processing in a Flight Test environment is an excellent substitution for a degree.) Periods of working 2nd shift or working full-time second shift will be required. Weekend work is occasional; candidate may be contacted on weekends to report to work on short notice.

This position requires a SECRET security clearance minimum and eligible for Special Program access. Candidates that are ineligible for Special Access will not be considered.

A level 2 employee Typically has 2 - 5 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience with (or desire to work with) Data Processing, Data Analytics, or database support
  • Experience recognizing and troubleshooting deficiencies in processes, missing data, and/or malfunctioning network systems
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Familiar with Curtiss-Wright IADS, building IADS screens, and understanding of data flow from aircraft to IADS CDS.
  • Familiar with Lockheed Martin Core Data Processing Suite (CDP).
  • Security+ Certification
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of IRIG 106 standards Including Chapters 4, 7, 8, 9, and 10.
  • Experience working in a Flight Test Organization/Environment
  • Hardware and/or Software programming experience
  • Experience with data management tools, methodologies, database support, and IT systems
  • Excellent communication skills (work history with frequent customer contact)
