Data Architect Job at Kemin
Overview:
Join the Kemin team as a Data Architect! This full-time position will work within our global team to monitor and maintain a portion of our global business intelligence (BI) platform. The primary responsibility will be supporting one or more of our BI applications, which could potentially include Power BI, SSASSRS, our data warehouse, any of our SQL servers,both on premises and on-cloud, or Power Query through Excel. In this role, you will be expected to take ownership of one or more of these systems from a Tier 3 perspective, and assist with tracking issues, coordinating training, updating documentation, assisting the development team in coordination of new features and bug fixing(if applicable), and communicating with business on status of open items. They will be responsible for understanding the future roadmap of the entire BI platform and being able to implement new features and upgrades in order to take advantage of the full functionality of the system. They will need to be able to work with a global team coordinating tasks and projects in order to keep existing systems running well and implement new technologies to move the company forward .
This position may be located at our Worldwide Headquarters in Des Moines, IA or remotely.

Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives on cloud infrastructure implementation
- Partner with global team members on cross-functional teams
- Build solutions to data challenges, documenting solutions and presenting to teams
- Serve as the primary assigned technical expert on a BI platform system by working to resolve assigned issues within that system and coordinating with teams on system solutions
- Takes ownership of the system by understanding the platform fully
- Act as a key point of contact for any additional team members who may also be working with the same global software system
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic BI platform problems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering or related field
- 3+ years' experience working on a BI platform system
- Demonstrated experience working with PowerBI, Power Query, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory
- Azure DP203 certification is a plus
- Advanced knowledge of data structures, data relationships, and data modeling practices and standards
- Candidate must be a customer oriented, team player, have strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Research, understand, participate, and contribute to the goals and mission of the IT Department and the company as a whole
- Perform all responsibilities of this position while continually presenting a positive and professional example for the rest of the team and the company
- Ability to train users at different skill levels
- Experience with help desk ticketing software
- Experience with incident troubleshooting and escalation
- Possess effective prioritizing and project management skills
