DATA ANALYST
Job Summary:
The Data Governance Analyst (DGA) uses his/her skills and experience to generate the functional data lineages, which include data flows (across IT solutions), business process flows from original capture of key data elements to its end destination, showing the transformation and control environment as data moves across the organization.
The DGA is expected to identify data gaps and control deficiencies, as well as leading initiatives required to resolve the root cause of identified issues. Capturing Metadata throughout the full process is also a critical part of the function.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Meets with business, operations and control areas designated data stewards and lead the functional data lineage exercises that capture data flows (across IT solutions) and business process flows (from original capture of key data elements to its end destination) that identify the transformation and control environment surrounding key data elements as data moves across the organization.
- Identify data gaps and control deficiencies and assist data stewards in the development of business requirements documents that address the root cause of identified data issues.
- Capture and maintain metadata (data associated to the functional data lineage process and other data governance efforts in an ever-changing technology landscape.
- Responsible for applying the standard tools and techniques established by the CDO to perform the Functional Data Lineages., while supporting Data Stewards in the use of defined tools and techniques to perform their role as subject matter experts, in their respective areas.

Competencies:
- Acquaintance of process mapping & analysis tools (MS-Visio, Minitab, iGrafx) and business intelligence and quality tools (MS Purview, Synapse, SQL, Reporting Services, Excel).
- Strong Banking credit, financial & operational knowledge are highly desirable.
- Ability to generate presentations and present at all levels
- Ability to work independently under strict deadlines
- Write, speak and comprehend English and Spanish
- Team work orientation
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Experience working with large data volumes

Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in either Statistics, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Applied Mathematic (Master's Degree preferred) and a minimum of three years of Data Analysis related fields experience and a minimum of five years of experience in analysis of reports and synthesizing findings are required for this job.
