About the Mission You Will Join:

The Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP) - also known as the Military Blood Program - is the official military provider of blood products to U.S. armed forces. As a joint operation among the military services (Army, Navy, Air Force), the ASBP:

  • Provides quality blood products for service members, veterans and their families in both peace and war. ASBP collects, processes, stores, distributes, and transfuses blood worldwide.
  • Collects, processes, stores, distributes, and transfuses blood worldwide.
  • Works closely with our civilian counterparts in times of need.
Your Impact to the Mission:

VMD is in search of a highly energetic Data Analyst utilizing strong technical and team player communication and organizational skills to support our government client, assess business data and develop graphs and reports using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Duties involve a wide range of support activities. An important part of your role will be to work with DoD military customer supporting healthcare systems. You will have the ability to:
  • Receive requirements from client or team members for reports and decision-making aids in the form of graphs, charts, slides or Word documents. The data may be from disparate sources in multiple formats and exhibit various degrees of reliability.
  • Synthesize and organize the data using Excel or other products such as Tableau to develop deliverables, prioritize tasks, and produce quality work products.
  • Meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, contribute to client work products, and develop status reporting.

Experience Needed to Be Successful:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Data Analyst preferably supporting DoD military and/ or civilian customers involved with healthcare systems.
  • High standards of performance and work ethic
  • Highly analytical mind and acute attention to details
  • High proficiency in MS Excel including pivot tables, charting/graphs, macros, functions and formulas
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Visio and PowerPoint
  • High understanding of data requirements and clarity of organizational data strategy
  • Experience in extrapolation of high volume data
  • Experience in handling multiple Data Sources, Data Constellations, and Data Sets
  • Experience in Data Visualization
  • Keen sense of Data Assurance and catching data anomalies
  • Experience in resolving data challenges
  • Experience in producing high quality metrics, reports, and dashboards
  • Knowledge of Data Modeling
  • Experience with Client relationship management and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable dealing with large span of people.
  • Team player with strong communication skills-verbal, written, listening and presentation.
  • Responsible for analyzing data to help identify business problems and propose solutions.

Desired Qualification and Experience:

  • Preferable knowledge of predictive data analysis
  • Preferable knowledge of Tableau, PowerBI, Business Intelligence
  • Preferable knowledge of Database Management
  • Preferable knowledge of Business Analysis, and Program/Project Analysis
  • Experience with US Federal Government Agencies including DoD (Preferred)

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in general business degree field.
