Personal Insurance Customer Service Representative
We are a family owned and operated independent insurance agency. We are looking for a team & family oriented, people person, who likes working with others, for a Personal Lines Insurance Customer Service position requiring advanced communication skills, a thorough knowledge of individual and family personal property and casualty insurance products available through the agency. Hourly based pay which is negotiable based on experience, with the opportunity to also make Commission with unlimited potential. Spanish speaking is also a highly desirable quality.

We will also consider candidates to train who do not have a license yet or insurance experience but want to work in an office environment either in Newburgh or Poughkeepsie,this is an in the office position.

Major Responsibilities for an experienced hire:

  • Handle all existing renewals completely
  • Negotiate with carriers along with Producers or Management on new business and renewal submission
  • Send renewal proposals and review with clients
  • Retain current book of business
  • Attend on-site meetings
  • Support all team projects and priorities as determined by Management
  • Ability to multi-task and work with varying issues and changing priorities
  • Resolve issues arising from service calls from clients
  • Assist in contract reviews with clients
  • Direct communications with clients and carriers
  • Partner with Producer to establish the client service plan
  • Special projects arising from client needs
  • Refer new lines of coverage to existing clients, i.e., business, benefits, Life, disability, health
  • Keep current with new products, changes in legislation and communicate any market changes to team members
  • Assume other job responsibilities as assigned by manager
  • Qualifications:

  • Education requirement; college degree preferred - high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Knowledge of computer systems and operations is required Applied Systems usage preferred
  • A Team attitude, good listening skills and writing skills, and attention to detail are important
  • 1-5 years of Knowledge of personal insurance and products is essential
  • NY Property and Casualty Licensed preferred'
  • Will will consider candidates without experience.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
