WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:*
Working at our Byron Center, the Customer Service Representative will specialize in our specialty division. Your team will serve as a call center for our Michigan market. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Living Out Lumbermen’s Culture – Modeling Lumbermen’s core values while creating an atmosphere where Lumbermen’s is ‘first choice’ of our customers.
  • Modeling Safety – Being a safety-minded team player who will contribute to the protection of all employee owners.
  • Quoting Products – Generating and delivering product quotes for customers accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Managing Inventory – Maintaining and managing inventory stock levels.
  • Customer/Vendor Support – Answer incoming customer/vendor inquiries and assisting them in timely problem resolution.
  • Order Data Entry – Entering incoming orders received from customers accurately and efficiently.
  • Production Collaboration – Working in tandem with the production team to ensure timely completion and deliver of customer orders.

POSITION SUMMARY*
Located in our Byron Center office, our Customer Service Team is working in partnership with our customers and suppliers delivering superior products. This team serves as a call center for our Michigan market. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with new and existing customers
  • Quoting and order entry
  • Answering incoming customer inquiries
  • Customer support and timely problem resolution
  • Processing customer returns
  • Occasional delivery scheduling
  • Managing & maintaining inventory stock levels
  • Creating raving fans of the Lumbermen’s brand
  • Maintaining the organization, maintenance and cleanliness of the office work areas and other areas assigned by the Customer Service Manager

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • College degree preferred
  • Some experience with Distribution & Supply Chain
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a professional customer service environment

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Friendly, professional demeanor
  • Dependable
  • Ability to work cooperatively with fellow employee owners
  • Ability to effectively move between a variety of tasks
  • Ability to productively manage tasks and complete work accurately in a timely manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
