Job Summary and Mission
Nestle Coffee Partners Customer Account Manager selling to the Discount Channel contributes to Nestlé Coffee Partners' success by selling excess inventory and managing profitability of our portfolio. The Customer Account Manager is responsible for identifying at-risk inventory, analyzing customer needs, creating weekly product offers and negotiating to maximize sales and profit.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Leadership: Setting sales and profitability goals to deliver the best financial return for NCP
  • Identifies opportunities to sell at-risk inventory (limited remaining shelf life)
  • Leads the selling and negotiating activities with a select group of discounters across the U.S.
  • Leads cross functional relationships within organization to provide better solutions

Sales Execution: Developing sales and operational plans, ensuring execution, and measuring results:
  • Understands customer strategy and requirements and develops product offers to quickly liquidate inventory in line with established Nestlé sales guidelines
  • Leads sales processes/procedures to help achieve business goals
  • Manages trade allowances effectively to maximize profitability for NCP
  • Analyzes sales and business trends to effectively negotiate with customer
Business Requirements: Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities:
  • Responsible for details related to the day-to-day business (i.e. create orders, track shipments, manage trade allowances etc.)
  • Communicates monthly, quarterly and annual business expectations
  • Ensures customers are executing within Nestle Policies and Procedures
  • Builds positive relationships with customer, up to the VP-level of the customer’s organization
  • Updates and advises leaders to business challenges and is responsible for process improvement
Team Building: Acts as a strong partner to fellow Commercial Development team members
  • Challenges and inspires cross functional team members to achieve business results
  • Participates in key training activities and team events
  • Provides support to cross functional team members to help achieve Waste reduction initiatives

Summary of Experience:
  • Discount Channel selling experience desired
  • At least 3+ years of experience developing and leading sales within consumer products industry, negotiating annual sales plans focused on multiple brands, and key account sales at the Director and/or buyer level
  • Experienced in managing sales, profit and trade allowances
  • Strong experience working with cross-functional groups including Supply Planning, Finance and Commercial Development
  • Solid Knowledge related to Customer Financial Models (Item Margin, Category Margin, Waste etc.)
  • Strong negotiating experience and skills required

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree required

  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Strong selling and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities concurrently through cross-functional team
  • Ability to apply consultative skills in a business environment
  • Knowledge of business planning and financial performance measures
  • Ability to present customer information to small-medium size groups

The approximate pay range for this position is $120,000 to $135,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
